2022-23

  • Associated Collegiate Press, Individual Awards. Received first-place honors for Yearbook Cover of the Year by Michaela Chen and Yearbook Design/Spread of the Year for “On Call” by Kira Sakai.

  • Associated Collegiate Press, Best of Show. Received four honors, including Best Design, Yearbook for “Hear Us Roar” by Sophia Sanchez and “On Call” by Kira Sakai.

  • Pacemaker Finalist, Associated Collegiate Press. 

  • College Media Association, Pinnacle Awards. Received five honors, including first-place prizes for Yearbook Division Page/Spread for “Community” by Michaela Chen and Yearbook News Page/Spread for “Now Trending” by Sophia Sanchez.

  • Columbia Scholastic Press Association, Gold Circle Awards. Eight first-place awards, for Headline Writing: Kyra LaFitte, Duane Loynes Jr., and Serene Pandey, for Alternative Story Form: Duane Loynes Jr., for Theme and Concept, for Opening and Closing Spread Design, for Sports Spread, One Spread: Kira Sakai, “Historic Win,” for People Spreads without Mug Photos, Multi-page Spread: Michaela Chen, Sophia Sanchez, “Humans of EIS,” for Organization or Greeks Spread, Multi-page Spread: Michaela Chen, “Sync It With Me,” and for Design Portfolio: Kira Sakai.

2021-22

  • College Media Association, Pinnacle Awards. Named best yearbook in the nation, plus received two additional honors for yearbook cover and feature page/spread.

  • Columbia Scholastic Press Association, Gold Circle Awards. Four first-place awards, for Caption/Cutline Writing: Kyra LaFitte, Melanie Sintsova, for Theme and Concept, for Photo Illustration, Single Image: Natalie Meins, “Treasure Trove,” and for Informational Graphics, Single: Ariana Ahmadi, Kyra LaFitte, and Katie Mattocks,  “ChChChChChanges."

2020-21 

  • College Media Association, Pinnacle Awards. Two first-place awards for Best News Spread and Best Sports Spread.  

  • Columbia Scholastic Press Association, Gold Circle Awards. Two first-place awards for Best Personality Profile: Hadiya Williams-Cain, “Unapologetically Me,” and Best Endsheets: Katie Mattocks.

 2019-20 

  • Gold Crown, Columbia Scholastic Press Association. The award for the Tower’s 2020 edition marked the seventh time The Tower has taken home CSPA’s most prestigious honor with previous golds coming in 2016, 2015, 2013, 2011 and 2006. 

  • Pacemaker Award, Associated Collegiate Press. The 2020 Pacemaker was the fourth in The Tower’s history.

  • Columbia Scholastic Press Association, Gold Circle Awards. Two second-place awards, three third-place awards and five commendable mentions.  

  • Individual Awards, Associated College Press. One third-place award and one fourth-place award.

2018-19 

  • Silver Crown, Columba Scholastic Press Association. The Silver Crown for the 2019 book was the second in The Tower’s history. 

  • Pacemaker Finalist, Associated Collegiate Press. 

2017-18 

  • Pacemaker Award, Associated Collegiate Press. The 2018 Pacemaker was the third in The Tower’s history. 

  • Gold Crown, Columba Scholastic Press Association. This year’s was the sixth Gold Crown in Tower history and the third consecutive year The Tower has won the award. LMU is the only university in the country to have its yearbook win the Gold Crown in each of the past three years. The Tower previously won Gold Crown Awards for its 2006, 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2016 books. 

2016-17 

  • Pacemaker Award, Associated Collegiate Press. The 2017 Pacemaker was the second in The Tower’s history.  

  • Gold Crown, Columba Scholastic Press Association. The 2017 crown was the fifth Gold Crown in Tower history and marks back-to-back years winning the award.  

2015-16 

  • Gold Crown, Columba Scholastic Press Association. The 2016 crown was the fourth Gold Crown in Tower history and marks back-to-back years winning the award.  

2014-15 

  • Pacemaker Award, Associated Collegiate Press. The Tower Yearbook won a 2014 Yearbook Pacemaker award for exceptional college journalism. 

  • Gold Crown, Columba Scholastic Press Association.  

2011-12 

  • University Program of the Year, Loyola Marymount University. The Tower yearbook was named LMU’s University Program of the Year at the Student Service and Leadership Awards. 

  • Gold Crown, Columba Scholastic Press Association. 

2010-11 

  • Silver Crown, Columba Scholastic Press Association.  

2006-07 

  • Gold Crown, Columba Scholastic Press Association.  

  • Best in Show, Associated Collegiate Press and College Media Advisers. The Tower was honored as the best yearbook in the nation (Best in Show) at the 85th Annual National College Media Conference in October 2006.
